Artiste et \u00e9crivain p\u00e9ruvien, il \u00e9tudie les lettres et la peinture \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 catholique du P\u00e9rou et la Gravure \u00e0 l&rsquo;Atelier 17 \u00e0 Paris et \u00e0 la Slade School of Fine Arts \u00e0 Londres. Depuis 1980, il est pr\u00e9sent au P\u00e9rou et \u00e0 l\u2019international, les expositions s\u2019encha\u00eenent et ses \u00e9crits sur l\u2019art montrent une originalit\u00e9 de vue particuli\u00e8re<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La peinture de Ricardo Wiesse se caract\u00e9rise par une ma\u00eetrise affirm\u00e9e de l&rsquo;abstraction, tendance renforc\u00e9e \u00e0 travers une possession forte de la figuration dans la repr\u00e9sentation du paysage. Deux approches devenues maintenant simultan\u00e9ment deux lignes directrices picturales fondamentales. Ses peintures abstraites et figuratives sont expos\u00e9es \u00e0 la Galerie Forum de Lima depuis 1980. Outre sa cr\u00e9ation de plasticien, Ricardo Wiesse a \u00e9t\u00e9 un intervenant et enseignant dans diverses \u00e9coles d&rsquo;art. Il est aussi le muraliste en c\u00e9ramique dont l\u2019\u0153uvre phare est une vaste composition de dix mille m\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s r\u00e9alis\u00e9e pour la V\u00eda Expresa de Lima en 1991. Int\u00e9ress\u00e9 aux \u00e9v\u00e9nements majeurs du pays et des pays circumvoisins, il a particip\u00e9 aux biennales de Lima et de Trujillo (P\u00e9rou), Cuenca (Equateur), Valpara\u00edso (Chili), La Havane (Cuba), San Juan (Puerto Rico) &#8230; En 1995 il a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 l&rsquo;intervention <em>Diez cantutas<\/em> \u00e0 Cieneguilla, en hommage aux \u00e9tudiants et au professeur de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 Nationale d&rsquo;\u00c9ducation assassin\u00e9s par les forces paramilitaires. Sa curiosit\u00e9 r\u00e9trospective vaut deux portraits sentis de Poussin et de Rembrandt. Certains d&rsquo;entre eux ont servi de prologues \u00e0 des livres ou ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9par\u00e9s pour des expositions et des conf\u00e9rences. D&rsquo;autres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crits express\u00e9ment pour ce livre. Ils sont divis\u00e9s en deux parties : \u00ab\u00a0Portraits \u00e9crits\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Essais\u00a0\u00bb. Dans le premier sont rassembl\u00e9es des textes de critique sur des personnages historiques et sur certains des esprits cr\u00e9atifs que l&rsquo;auteur a fr\u00e9quent\u00e9s. Ce sont des ressemblances de rencontres et d&rsquo;affections qui cherchent \u00e0 fixer des souvenirs, \u00e0 retracer des trajectoires et \u00e0 les contextualiser, et \u00e0 reconstruire des itin\u00e9raires vitaux. La seconde partie est compos\u00e9e d&rsquo;essais sur des sujets qui ont mobilis\u00e9 le travail pictural de l&rsquo;auteur, dont l&rsquo;\u0153uvre est \u00e9troitement li\u00e9e \u00e0 son temps pr\u00e9sent, \u00e0 son environnement social et naturel, ainsi qu&rsquo;au pass\u00e9 historique.
