Avant m\u00eame cet engagement \u00e0 l\u2019image, il se mesure, dans le contexte universitaire, \u00e0 ce concept plus intemporel que quotidien, si l\u2019on veut finasser \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lors d\u2019une exposition r\u00e9trospective qu\u2019il avait intitul\u00e9e&nbsp;<em>Bilan, 10 ans de travail artistique \u00e0 Paris (2008 \u2013 2018)<\/em>, Juan Diego Vergara disait que \u00ab&nbsp;l<em>a vie quotidienne de l\u2019artiste devient un sujet et une mani\u00e8re de plus en plus forts et visibles dans l\u2019art contemporain. Cela se lit dans les deux sens : la biographie comme th\u00e8me de travaux des artistes, mais aussi la r\u00e9percussion de l\u2019art dans la vie priv\u00e9e. C\u2019est ma peinture, et l\u2019\u00e9volution de ma peinture, qui me font appr\u00e9hender d\u2019une nouvelle mani\u00e8re ma vie et la transforment.&nbsp;<\/em>\u00bb. Il est, apparemment, ferme et constant sur cette consid\u00e9ration\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>De l\u2019esth\u00e9tique \u00e0 la signal\u00e9tique<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour en savoir davantage sur cet artiste discret, il suffit de se reporter \u00e0 l\u2019affiche ou au carton d\u2019invitation de l\u2019exposition qui se tient en f\u00e9vrier 2020 dans le cadre des ateliers d\u2019artistes de Belleville. L\u2019artiste a choisi d\u2019illustrer, de pr\u00e9ciser ce document avec un autoportrait \u00e0 mi-corps. El\u00e9gamment v\u00eatu, &#8211; chapeau et pochette \u2013 il s\u2019impose, exhibant une carte d\u2019identit\u00e9 aux dimensions quelque peu surdimensionn\u00e9es \u2013 symbole oblige&nbsp;! -. L\u2019\u0153uvre, frontale, regard direct au public, s\u2019impose par cette mise en page simple et efficace. Quant \u00e0 la carte d\u2019identit\u00e9, son aspect <em>livret<\/em> aurait d\u00fb \u00eatre pris en compte par la Pr\u00e9fecture de police (au lieu du format compact et trop dense en caract\u00e8res qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 depuis lors retenu&nbsp;!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sur le carton d\u2019invitation de son exposition, de celle \u2013 donc &#8211; qui a eu lieu du 20 f\u00e9vrier au 1<sup>er<\/sup>&nbsp;mars 2020 dans ce contexte festif et m\u00e9moriel des ateliers d\u2019artistes de Belleville, l\u2019autoportrait \u00e0 mi-corps en veste tyrolienne et pochette est tourn\u00e9 vers le public auquel est destin\u00e9e cette information, l\u2019artiste reste quelque peu myst\u00e9rieux, tenant de la main gauche une carte d\u2019identit\u00e9 quelque peu simplifi\u00e9e o\u00f9 il est indiqu\u00e9 qu\u2019il fait 1,85 m et est n\u00e9 le 7 septembre 1972. Voil\u00e0 pour les renseignements <em>bioadministratifs<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>De quelques consid\u00e9rations sur les supports<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une r\u00e9cente visite \u00e0 l\u2019atelier de l\u2019artiste a permis de constater combien les supports peuvent \u00eatre multiples de m\u00eame que les formats d\u00e9sar\u00e7onnent l\u00e9g\u00e8rement. Juan Diego utilise la toile de lin, de coton, peign\u00e9 ou cru, modifi\u00e9 par l\u2019application de corps qui vont sublimer autrement les sujets repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019huile, au fusain, \u2026 Il est autant un dessinateur qui note sur ses carnets les sujets in nuce ou autrement r\u00e9fl\u00e9chis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Quand l\u2019artiste r\u00e9dige et se livre \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A chaque exposition son th\u00e8me, son contexte \u00e9motionnel et esth\u00e9tique. Cette esth\u00e9tique \u00e0 laquelle Juan Diego Vergara Orme\u00f1o est attach\u00e9, elle transpara\u00eet, fluide et n\u00e9cessaire dans ses propos lib\u00e9rateurs et visc\u00e9raux dont le titre annonce les \u0153uvres\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Les tubes des ann\u00e9es 80 : des musiques populaires qui ont forg\u00e9 notre identit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les ann\u00e9es 80 ont vu na\u00eetre des tubes rock qui ont marqu\u00e9 toute une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, y compris la mienne \u00e0 Lima, au P\u00e9rou. Des groupes comme The Alarm, Depeche Mode, Les Rita Mitsouko, Blondie ou O.M.D. ont accompagn\u00e9 mon adolescence et ma jeunesse, et continuent de r\u00e9sonner en moi aujourd&rsquo;hui, \u00e0 Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J&rsquo;ai constat\u00e9 avec surprise \u00e0 Paris la similitude des go\u00fbts musicaux entre les jeunes P\u00e9ruviens et Fran\u00e7ais de cette \u00e9poque. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la musique populaire, et plus particuli\u00e8rement au rock alternatif, punk, post-punk et new wave, j&rsquo;ai retrouv\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris de nombreuses personnes ayant v\u00e9cu le m\u00eame ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne musical et social. Le punk rock a \u00e9t\u00e9 un mouvement identitaire fort pour toute une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration \u00e0 travers le monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comme l&rsquo;a soulign\u00e9 Simon Frith, \u00ab\u00a0le go\u00fbt des musiques populaires ne d\u00e9rive pas simplement de nos identit\u00e9s socialement construites ; il aide \u00e9galement \u00e0 les former\u00a0\u00bb. Pour n\u2019en citer qu\u2019une, <em>Les musiciens prol\u00e9taires<\/em> rappellent ces grandes fresques o\u00f9 un sentiment de m\u00eame envol\u00e9e poss\u00e8de les personnages qui sont face \u00e0 nous, tirant de ce rassemblement implicite une force collective qui s\u2019insinue en chacun. Quant \u00e0 ces autres \u0153uvres, n\u00e9es de titres de chansons ou de pochettes de vinyles, elles ont cette force qui rend actuelles ces faits divers d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements en leur temps intenses et contagieux&nbsp;!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette exposition rend hommage \u00e0 tous ces artistes, v\u00e9ritables h\u00e9ros de notre jeunesse, qui ont eu une influence consid\u00e9rable sur nos vies et continuent de nous accompagner aujourd&rsquo;hui.
