En fait, le succ\u00e8s de la manifestation renvoie \u00e0 la fr\u00e9quentation d\u2019autres lieux, a priori \u00e9loign\u00e9s l\u2019un de l\u2019autre&nbsp;: quoi de commun entre les espaces nouvellement redessin\u00e9s du vaste show room Ikea dans le 13<sup>e<\/sup> arrondissement de la capitale et celui qui accueille la manifestation Drawing now au carreau du temple&nbsp;? La m\u00eame curiosit\u00e9 et le m\u00eame engouement pour une culture en train de se structurer, de prendre ses marques face \u00e0 la curiosit\u00e9 de toutes formes de publics attir\u00e9s par l\u2019attrait bien normal de la nouveaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le dimanche apr\u00e8s-midi, dernier jour de la manifestation est vraiment cruel, c\u2019est le temps du farniente, de la digestion, de l\u2019\u00e9clatement entre amis qui cherchent des lieux o\u00f9 des choses soient \u00e0 voir autant qu\u2019eux-m\u00eames ont besoin de se faire voir, d\u2019\u00eatre vus\u2026 Ce vaste d\u00e9ploiement d\u2019\u00e9nergie, assez baroque, envahissant, est la fronti\u00e8re \u00e0 franchir pour parvenir au fond des choses, une confrontation parlante avec les images qui sont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es sur ces stands r\u00e9partis pour former un patchwork saisissant, une mosa\u00efque changeante en fonction de la lumi\u00e8re du jour et de celle des \u00e9clairages, et aussi des variations chromatiques induites par les d\u00e9placements de ce public bourdonnant. Il n\u2019emp\u00eache que le spectacle est d\u00e9j\u00e0 l\u00e0, le voyeurisme est d\u00e9j\u00e0 intense face aux tenues de celles et ceux qui ont eu le temps de se pr\u00e9parer pour se substituer aux \u0153uvres par leur pr\u00e9sence ainsi pens\u00e9e, tout \u00e0 fait compl\u00e9mentaire \u00e0 celle des \u0153uvres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Telle \u00e9tait l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re enjou\u00e9e qui r\u00e9gnait ce dimanche apr\u00e8s-midi au carreau du temple. En particulier dans le p\u00e9rim\u00e8tre allou\u00e9 \u00e0 la galerie Husk, une galerie belge sise \u00e0 Bruxelles. Le bin\u00f4me form\u00e9 par la galeriste Ingrid Van Hecke et l\u2019un des artistes Peter Depelchin \u00e9tait saisissant&nbsp;: face \u00e0 l\u2019enthousiasme d\u2019un nombre important de visiteurs, ils semblaient garder leur calme. Professionnalisme oblige&nbsp;! Sur ce fond mouvant, un immense dessin me renvoya, d\u2019embl\u00e9e, aux saisissantes \u0153uvres de F\u00e9licien Rops, \u00e0 cette sensualit\u00e9 imm\u00e9diate et trompeuse d\u2019un baroque captivant mais quasiment d\u00e9rangeant et vite fastidieux par la fa\u00e7on de l\u2019artiste \u00e0 d\u00e9caper tout raffinement de ses cr\u00e9atures comme poss\u00e9d\u00e9es par un feu autre\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En fait, le spectacle de cette fresque dessin\u00e9e tenait le choc, il y avait la truculence, il y avait la densit\u00e9, il y avait le choc raffin\u00e9 et ma\u00eetris\u00e9 \u2014 sans en avoir l\u2019air tellement c\u2019\u00e9tait bien dessin\u00e9 [\u00e7a compte&nbsp;!] de ce r\u00e9el d\u00e9suet et chevill\u00e9 dans un aller-retour allusif au contemporain avec une fin de si\u00e8cle \u00e0 la polychromie savante et ma\u00eetris\u00e9e\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peter Depelchin est n\u00e9 \u00e0 Ostende en 1985. Il a grandi \u00e0 Nieuport. Il a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 \u00e0 Sint-Lucas \u00e0 Gand. Ces examens pr\u00e9liminaires aboutissent \u00e0 des s\u00e9ries d\u2019esquisses ou de collages. Dans un second mouvement, apr\u00e8s avoir longuement \u00e9tudi\u00e9 son sujet et apr\u00e8s avoir trac\u00e9 les contours des \u0153uvres vis\u00e9es, il commence \u00e0 dessiner, graver, filmer ou cr\u00e9er des installations. Les esquisses initiales sont utilis\u00e9es soit comme un point de d\u00e9part stable pour des \u0153uvres d\u2019art ult\u00e9rieures, soit comme des \u0153uvres d\u2019art autonomes \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re. Malgr\u00e9 son int\u00e9r\u00eat et son exp\u00e9rience avec une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de m\u00e9dias, le dessin constitue le c\u0153ur de sa pratique artistique. Les mat\u00e9riaux qu\u2019il utilise pour d\u00e9velopper ses dessins sont la plume, l\u2019encre de Chine, le bistre et le papier de soie. Cette combinaison \u00e9voque \u00e0 juste titre des images aux influences culturelles orientales et occidentales. La figure de Pan a retenu l\u2019attention de Peter Depelchin. Pour plusieurs raisons, la toute premi\u00e8re \u00e9tant certainement qu\u2019ll a d\u00fb instantan\u00e9ment r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ce besoin de le rassurer sur la sensualit\u00e9 qui avait pu le gagner et lui imposer un rythme de vie particulier. Un autre, plus insidieuse, plus constructive, plus structurante, \u00e9tant que cette cr\u00e9ature \u2014 Pan encore \u2014 lui permet d\u2019aborder&nbsp;les questions d\u2019hybridit\u00e9 et de m\u00e9tamorphose&nbsp;qui sommeillent en tout humain. Les dessins au crayon m\u00e9ticuleusement ex\u00e9cut\u00e9s par cette cr\u00e9atrice \u00e9voquent un monde surr\u00e9aliste plein d\u2019humour. L\u2019artiste construit son iconographie singuli\u00e8re en collectionnant des clich\u00e9s amateurs et personnels, des cartes postales, des images d\u00e9coup\u00e9es dans des magazines, des gravures anciennes, des articles scientifiques illustr\u00e9s et des guides pratiques. Il s\u2019agit ensuite de les classer et de les ordonner selon de grandes th\u00e9matiques, avant de les assembler. L\u2019acte d\u2019assembler\/d\u00e9monter et de combiner\/d\u00e9combiner rappelle les collages surr\u00e9alistes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La rencontre avait valu le d\u00e9placement.
