Portraits d\u2019hier et de demain (8)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>par Alain Cardenas-Castro<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u2019ai, cet automne 2024, effectu\u00e9 une mission au P\u00e9rou afin de participer \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents \u00e9v\u00e9nements dont, d\u2019une part, une exposition de mes dessins \u00e0 Lima, et de l\u2019autre, une rencontre avec diff\u00e9rents artistes dans le cadre de mes recherches sur l\u2019indig\u00e9nisme, prolongement \u00e0 une th\u00e8se soutenue en 2021. La mise en place de son dispositif vid\u00e9o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>De lointaine origine cro\u00e2te, Yerko Zlatar (Lima, 1977) vit et travaille dans sa ville de naissance, Lima. Son atelier est situ\u00e9 dans le quartier de Barranco, historiquement le lieu o\u00f9 la cr\u00e9ation est active et foisonnante, notamment avec de nombreux ateliers d\u2019artiste. Celui de Yerko Zlatar est au premier \u00e9tage d\u2019un immeuble dont la fa\u00e7ade donnant sur la rue est modul\u00e9e de balcons aux ferronneries sombres. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9cole d\u2019art Corriente Alterna en 2001, sa multidisciplinarit\u00e9 intellectuelle suscite et g\u00e9n\u00e8re tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t un travail autour de diff\u00e9rentes techniques&nbsp;: collage, photographie, peinture, sculpture, gravure, installation et vid\u00e9o. Curieux de mondes autres et d\u2019approches esth\u00e9tiques diff\u00e9rentes, il suit un cursus au sein de l\u2019\u00e9cole d\u2019art Byam Shaw \u00e0 Londres (2002) o\u00f9 il obtient son dipl\u00f4me. Par ailleurs, c\u2019est aussi \u00e0 Lima qu\u2019en 1999 il entreprend d\u2019approfondir les techniques et processus cr\u00e9atifs alternatifs qui accompagnent l\u2019art de la photographie, notamment au Centre de l\u2019Image. En 2000, il remporte le prix Philips pour les jeunes talents, dans cette m\u00eame envol\u00e9e, il pr\u00e9sente au Br\u00e9sil ses \u0153uvres au Mus\u00e9e m\u00e9morial de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique latine de S\u00e3o Paulo. Un an apr\u00e8s, il se rend \u00e0 Londres o\u00f9 il exp\u00e9rimente l\u2019importante diversit\u00e9 de l\u2019art num\u00e9rique, de la vid\u00e9o et de la musique exp\u00e9rimentale, se concentrant alors sur des th\u00e8mes tels que l\u2019architecture moderne, les cultures anciennes, le mysticisme et la technologie. Au cours de sa carri\u00e8re, il a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 des expositions individuelles et collectives \u00e0 Londres, Paris (galerie Younique), New York, Madrid et Lima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019approche pluridisciplinaire de Yerko Zlatar est surprenante, voire d\u00e9stabilisante&nbsp;: il travaille avec des mod\u00e9lisations bas\u00e9es sur la g\u00e9om\u00e9trie des formes, les arch\u00e9types primaires et synth\u00e9tiques de l\u2019architecture. Son imaginaire est bas\u00e9 sur l\u2019appropriation et la d\u00e9construction d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments trouv\u00e9s, de mod\u00e8les sacr\u00e9s, d\u2019architectures ancestrales et de conceptions prises \u00e0 diverses sources culturelles selon des marqueurs temporels sp\u00e9cifiques. (ill. 4 ) Quelques ouvrages de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence pos\u00e9s sur sa table de travail<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Technologie ancestrale<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diff\u00e9rents projets doivent se classer parmi ses axes majeurs de d\u00e9veloppement. Ainsi en va-t-il de ce qu\u2019il qualifie de <em>technologie ancestrale.<\/em> Effectivement, dans ses derniers travaux, il s&rsquo;int\u00e9resse aux constructions monumentales de l&rsquo;ancien P\u00e9rou pour y trouver des correspondances avec les formes contemporaines issues de productions industrielles, les emballages de mati\u00e8re synth\u00e9tique en est un exemple. Pour ce cr\u00e9ateur, ces art\u00e9facts g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es par la modernit\u00e9 deviennent de mani\u00e8re surprenante des matrices qui vont engendrer des formes semblables \u00e0 celles des architectures pr\u00e9colombiennes. Au-del\u00e0 du concept, en praticien exp\u00e9riment\u00e9, il met sa th\u00e9orie \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9preuve en s&rsquo;appropriant le processus du moulage. Il effectue le tirage de ces pi\u00e8ces en b\u00e9ton \u00e0 partir de ces emballages \u2014 de smartphones, tablettes et ordinateurs portables \u2014 con\u00e7us \u00e0 l\u2019origine pour stocker des c\u00e2bles et des chargeurs et qui deviennent apr\u00e8s recyclage des moules d&rsquo;une seule pi\u00e8ce, dit \u00ab\u00a0moule bateau\u00a0\u00bb (ill. 5), qu&rsquo;il &nbsp;choisit pour leur forme \u00e9tonnement similaire \u00e0 celles des \u00e9difices pr\u00e9colombiens issus de son r\u00e9pertoire documentaire. Une th\u00e9matique qu&rsquo;il suit dans la pr\u00e9paration de son exposition au Mus\u00e9e d&rsquo;Art de Lima (MALI). <em>Technologie ancestrale<\/em> est le nom qu&rsquo;il a donn\u00e9 \u00e0 son projet savamment assembl\u00e9 pour confronter les lieux, les \u00e9poques et les mat\u00e9riaux. Une proposition qui &nbsp;r\u00e9v\u00e8le la convergence entre un h\u00e9ritage ancestral et une technologie contemporaine. Yerko Zlatar a plac\u00e9 au centre de son installation un moniteur vid\u00e9o qui laisse d\u00e9filer un flux d&rsquo;images que le spectateur re\u00e7oit en s\u00e9quences hypnotiques. Des images en provenance de diverses sources documentaires&nbsp;: illustrations historiographiques, mod\u00e8les isom\u00e9triques, photographies de pi\u00e8ces arch\u00e9ologiques et ouvrages de r\u00e9f\u00e9rences (ill. 3 et 4). Une somme iconographique \u00e9voquant la monumentalit\u00e9 des \u00e9difices et la technologie avec laquelle ces architectures ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9es .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;\u0153uvre s\u2019av\u00e8re une mise en sc\u00e8ne parfaite. Elle est techniquement complexe et repose sur une pr\u00e9cision compl\u00e8te de la disposition de ses \u00e9l\u00e9ments. Le moniteur vid\u00e9o analogique int\u00e9gr\u00e9 dans les d\u00e9bris de b\u00e9ton \u00e9voque de mani\u00e8re anachronique une technologie d&rsquo;un autre temps tout en \u00e9tablissant un dialogue entre deux mondes, l&rsquo;ancestral et le contemporain. Le moniteur devient l&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ment central d&rsquo;une topographie reconstitu\u00e9e, telle une figure sacr\u00e9e du paysage, un wak\u2019a, incarnant ici, non pas une puissance divine ou un anc\u00eatre v\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9, mais plut\u00f4t la magie de l&rsquo;image anim\u00e9e par la technologie du num\u00e9rique (ill. 7).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La bande son de la vid\u00e9o est une composition \u00e9lectronique combinant une rythmique dense et r\u00e9p\u00e9titive qui \u00e9voque des environnements autant industriels qu&#8217;emprunts de mysticisme. Les observatoires astronomiques et les rituels collectifs, sont des pratiques ancestrales de connexion avec le cosmos. \u00ab\u00a0Tinkuy\u00a0\u00bb (Star Link), <em>du <\/em>mot quechua qui signifie rencontre&nbsp;ou connexion, est un projet qui explore l\u2019intersection entre la technologie contemporaine et ces techniques anciennes. Yerko Zlatar m\u00e8ne sa r\u00e9flexion sur les nouvelles technologies issues de cette r\u00e9volution num\u00e9rique qui nous offre aujourd&rsquo;hui une connexion constante et individuelle vers un vaste champ d\u2019information, parfois de donn\u00e9es superficielles, en distinguant, d&rsquo;autre part, les lieux sacr\u00e9s des anciens utilis\u00e9s \u00e0 des fins de rep\u00e9rage et de pr\u00e9visions des \u00e9l\u00e9ments stellaires et des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes climatiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La \u00ab\u00a0pyramide Starlink\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yerko Zlatar a moul\u00e9 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de la bo\u00eete d&#8217;emballage d\u2019un modem Starlink pour en tirer une sculpture en forme de pyramide. Une \u0153uvre, \u00e0 l&rsquo;instar d&rsquo;un ready-made, qui nous convie \u00e0 une r\u00e9flexion sur une coincidence formelle \u00e0 partir de l&#8217;emballage d\u2019un dispositif internet \u2014 con\u00e7u \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine pour \u00e9tablir des connexions satellitaires \u2014 ayant la forme d\u2019une pyramide tronqu\u00e9e comme celles de <em>Huaca Rajada<\/em> et de <em>Huaca de la Luna<\/em>, au nord du P\u00e9rou, qui, dans les temps anciens, servaient \u00e0 relier les Hommes aux \u00e9toiles (ill. 6). La vid\u00e9o qui accompagne la pyramide Starlink pr\u00e9sente une s\u00e9rie d\u2019images superpos\u00e9es par l\u2019application de divers filtres. Chaque image impacte et transforme la pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, g\u00e9n\u00e9rant un d\u00e9roulement al\u00e9atoire d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ments iconographiques choisis parmi un corpus documentaire riche d&rsquo;un \u00e9chantillonage de mat\u00e9riaux arch\u00e9ologiques, huacas, centres c\u00e9r\u00e9moniaux, miroirs d\u2019eau, observatoires astronomiques, plans topographiques et diverses images extraites d&rsquo;ouvrages d&rsquo;astronomie. L&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience visuelle est accompagn\u00e9e d&rsquo;une composition sonore \u00e9voquant les premiers appareils num\u00e9riques \u00e0 avoir utilis\u00e9 internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La s\u00e9rie \u201cCaja Rumi\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Du quechua rumi [pierre] et de l&rsquo;espagnol caja [bo\u00eete], <em>Caja Rumi<\/em>, signifie \u00ab\u00a0bo\u00eetes en pierre\u00a0\u00bb. Cette s\u00e9rie est compos\u00e9e de sculptures en b\u00e9ton pr\u00e9sentant des cavit\u00e9s g\u00e9om\u00e9triques \u2014 carr\u00e9es, circulaires et \u00e0 plusieurs niveaux \u2014, cr\u00e9\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de bo\u00eetiers de smartphones, de tablettes et d&rsquo;ordinateurs portables. Con\u00e7us pour stocker des c\u00e2bles et des chargeurs, ces emballages \u00e9voquent formellement les structures c\u00e9r\u00e9monielles ancestrales, les autels en pierre et les miroirs d\u2019eau utilis\u00e9s comme observatoires astronomiques (ill. 8).
