Quant \u00e0 cette femme de lettres, elle a marqu\u00e9 la\u00a0g\u00e9n\u00e9ration des auteurs qui donnent la plus haute importance \u00e0 l\u2019illustration au P\u00e9rou. Lastenia Larriva appartient au club litt\u00e9raire L\u2019Ath\u00e9n\u00e9e (El Ateneo) qui se d\u00e9veloppe \u00e0 Lima. Elle ne cessera du reste de se consacrer \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation litt\u00e9raire et son activit\u00e9 de femmes de lettres, le montre bien, la pr\u00e9sence de ses \u0153uvres s&rsquo;intensifie en effet entre 1888 et 1890, notamment avec la publication d\u2019\u00e9tudes sociologiques et psychologiques sous le pseudonyme de N. Mayer pour le quotidien p\u00e9ruvien<em> El Comercio <\/em>(1895). Elle dirigera ensuite la revue mensuelle <em>La Mujer Peruana<\/em> (1916-1920), elle est par ailleurs l\u2019auteur de <em>Un drama singular<\/em> <em>o historia de una familia<\/em> (1888 et 1920) et \u00e9galement d\u2019une nouvelle <em>Pro Patria<\/em>. On lui doit surtout le recueil de nouvelles de <em>Cuentos<\/em> (1919). C\u2019est avec une surprise m\u00eal\u00e9e de satisfaction que j\u2019ai eu connaissance de cette publication toute r\u00e9cente.<\/p>\n<p>Une bonne dizaine d&rsquo;illustrations occupent le recueil de ces 14 nouvelles\u00a0: <em>Le conte du fossoyeur<\/em>, <em>Une histoire comme tant d\u2019autres<\/em>, <em>Le roi H\u00e9rode<\/em>, <em>Myst\u00e8re<\/em>, <em>Lendemain de Printemps<\/em>, <em>Fatalit\u00e9<\/em>, <em>Une f\u00eate c\u00e9leste<\/em>, <em>Inexplicable<\/em>, <em>Iris<\/em>, <em>L\u2019enfant j\u00e9sus de T\u00e9odore<\/em>, <em>Soleil d\u2019hiver<\/em>, <em>Conte et aussi histoire<\/em>, <em>L\u2019irr\u00e9parable<\/em> et <em>Le chemin de croix<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Les illustrations dues \u00e0 Juan Manuel Cardenas-Castro sont d\u2019une approche r\u00e9aliste, comme empreintes d\u2019une modernit\u00e9 li\u00e9e \u00e0 la fr\u00e9quentation r\u00e9guli\u00e8re des spectacles et des \u00e9v\u00e9nements.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le conte <em>Cuento del sepulturo<\/em> on reconna\u00eet un cimeti\u00e8re qui fait penser \u00e0 cette autre illustration de Juan Manuel Cardenas-Castro li\u00e9e, \u00e0 un scandale qui a eu lieu dans le cimeti\u00e8re de Lima en 1917 (ill. 1). art contemporain<\/em>, o\u00f9 j&rsquo;ai montr\u00e9 l&rsquo;importance de cette publication et aussi le r\u00f4le important que Juan Manuel Cardenas-Castro y a jou\u00e9 en tant qu&rsquo;illustrateur].<\/p>\n<p>A quand une \u00e9dition en fran\u00e7ais de cette collaboration intense ?<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1>Rese\u00f1a<\/h1>\n<p>por Alain Pascal C\u00e1rdenas-Castro<\/p>\n<p>Per\u00fa redescubre a sus creadores.<\/p>\n<p>Lastina Larriva de Llona (1848-1924) naci\u00f3 el mismo a\u00f1o que Gauguin, y su colaboraci\u00f3n con el artista Juan Manuel C\u00e1rdenas-Castro fue extra\u00f1a. En cuanto a esta mujer de letras, marc\u00f3 la generaci\u00f3n de autores que m\u00e1s importancia dio a la ilustraci\u00f3n en Per\u00fa. Lastenia Larriva perteneci\u00f3 al club literario L&rsquo;Ath\u00e9n\u00e9e (El Ateneo), que se desarrollaba en Lima. Nunca dej\u00f3 de dedicarse a la creaci\u00f3n literaria, como lo demuestra su labor como mujer de letras, que se intensific\u00f3 entre 1888 y 1890, sobre todo con la publicaci\u00f3n de estudios sociol\u00f3gicos y psicol\u00f3gicos bajo el seud\u00f3nimo de N. Mayer para el diario peruano El Comercio (1895). Posteriormente dirigi\u00f3 la revista mensual La Mujer Peruana (1916-1920), y es autora de Un drama singular o historia de una familia (1888 y 1920) y del cuento Pro Patria. Es conocida sobre todo por la colecci\u00f3n de cuentos Cuentos (1919). Con una mezcla de sorpresa y satisfacci\u00f3n me enter\u00e9 de esta publicaci\u00f3n tan reciente.<\/p>\n<p>La colecci\u00f3n de 14 relatos cortos incluye una docena de ilustraciones: El cuento del sepulturero, Una historia como tantas otras, El rey Herodes, Misterio, El d\u00eda despu\u00e9s de la primavera, Fatalidad, Una fiesta celestial, Inexplicable, Iris, El ni\u00f1o Jes\u00fas de Teodoro, Sol de invierno, Un cuento y tambi\u00e9n una historia, Lo irreparable y El v\u00eda crucis.<\/p>\n<p>Las ilustraciones, de Juan Manuel C\u00e1rdenas-Castro, tienen un enfoque realista, como imbuidas de una modernidad ligada a la asistencia habitual a espect\u00e1culos y eventos.<\/p>\n<p>El cuento Cuento del sepulcro representa un cementerio, que recuerda otra ilustraci\u00f3n de Juan Manuel C\u00e1rdenas-Castro vinculada a un esc\u00e1ndalo que tuvo lugar en el cementerio de Lima en 1917 (il. 1).
