L\u2019accent est mis sur les sc\u00e8nes europ\u00e9ennes envisag\u00e9es de l\u2019apr\u00e8s-guerre \u00e0 nos jours en proposant un tour d\u2019horizon au fil d\u2019une cr\u00e9ation internationale avec focus sur l\u2019Asie, l\u2019Afrique, le Moyen-Orient et l\u2019Am\u00e9rique latine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>La pr\u00e9sence massive de quelque, 150 galeries, dont pr\u00e8s de la moiti\u00e9 \u2014 44 % \u2014 de nouvelles participations pour vingt pays repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s (avec pour la premi\u00e8re fois l\u2019Argentine, le Cameroun, la Bulgarie et le P\u00e9rou) sont r\u00e9unies sous la coupole du Grand Palais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Cr\u00e9ation plurielles en deux th\u00e9matiques<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>* Une sc\u00e8ne fran\u00e7aise d\u2019un autre genre<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une s\u00e9lection au sein de laquelle les artistes femmes sont \u00e0 l\u2019honneur, y est solidement pr\u00e9sente et affirm\u00e9e, la premi\u00e8re des deux th\u00e9matiques, <em>Une sc\u00e8ne fran\u00e7aise d\u2019un autre genre<\/em>. Cet ensemble singulier est plac\u00e9 sous le commissariat de l\u2019association AWARE. Ainsi 25 projets d\u2019artistes femmes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 choisis parmi les propositions des galeries participantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour rappel, les actions de l\u2019association AWARE, cofond\u00e9e par Camille Moreau, visent \u00e0 \u00ab&nbsp;replacer les artistes femmes dans l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art&nbsp;\u00bb car \u00ab&nbsp;les artistes femmes sont sous-repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans les ouvrages d\u2019art, les expositions et les collections de mus\u00e9es, quand elles n\u2019en sont pas compl\u00e8tement absentes&nbsp;\u00bb. Suivant ce constat, l\u2019association remet des prix aux artistes femmes de diff\u00e9rentes g\u00e9n\u00e9rations depuis ces trois derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es. Il n\u2019en reste pas moins que cette classification \u2013 puisque c\u2019est bien de cela qu\u2019il s\u2019agit \u2013 red\u00e9finit implicitement des crit\u00e8res assez \u00e9loign\u00e9s de la force initiale de l\u2019art qui doit ainsi passer par le canal d\u2019un lobby\u2026 Souhaitons que ces quotas n\u2019affectent en rien un \u00e9l\u00e9ment fondamental, le talent des plasticien(ne)s s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le parcours propos\u00e9 sera suivi de plusieurs mani\u00e8res, soit en s\u2019orientant \u00e0 l\u2019aide des mentions sur les calicots des galeries qui pr\u00e9sentent la s\u00e9lection AWARE ou bien la s\u00e9lection latino-am\u00e9ricaine, soit aussi en suivant les calicots qui ont tout repris sur une m\u00eame signal\u00e9tique. Ce trac\u00e9 pens\u00e9 un avec parti pris d\u2019efficacit\u00e9 pragmatique et en accord avec l\u2019intelligence des lieux, r\u00e9v\u00e8le des parcours possibles, provoque surprises multiples et d\u00e9couvertes requinquantes par ces deux th\u00e9matiques r\u00e9unies. Des th\u00e9matiques qui profiteront aux amateurs en qu\u00eate d\u2019un achat soudain et comme irrationnel tout autant qu\u2019aux professionnels qui se dirigeront plus facilement vers un sujet choisi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un rappel succinct sur le fait qu\u2019une foire &#8211; comme son nom l\u2019indique &#8211; est principalement destin\u00e9e aux \u00e9changes commerciaux et que le co\u00fbt de son entr\u00e9e peut se r\u00e9v\u00e9ler dissuasif pour le visiteur d\u00e9sireux d\u2019une initiation ou d\u2019un bain dans les pluralit\u00e9s culturelle et artistique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suivant la th\u00e9matique du genre f\u00e9minin, la liste des artistes choisie par AWARE est \u00e9tendue, une trentaine de femmes dont une vingtaine pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es individuellement. La forte pr\u00e9sence de B\u00e9atrice Casadesus, peintre et installatrice d\u2019\u0153uvres hors normes, mentionnons pour m\u00e9moire une imposante manifestation de 2017 (galerie Dutko, Paris, en l\u2019\u00cele Saint-Louis) tandis qu\u2019Orlan, rencontr\u00e9e sur le stand de sa galerie Ceysson &amp; B\u00e9n\u00e9ti\u00e8re, fait la promotion de sa s\u00e9rie de Self-Hybridation Pr\u00e9colombienne&nbsp;; quant \u00e0 Ulla von Brandenburg, elle est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e par la galerie Art&nbsp;: Concept, un mot enfin sur Vera Moln\u00e1r red\u00e9couverte par AWARE (prix d\u2019honneur AWARE 2018 ex-aequo avec Nil Yalter) \u00e0 la galerie Oniris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\">** \u00c9toiles du Sud&nbsp;: \u00e0 propos d\u2019une exploration de l\u2019art de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Sud<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour la seconde th\u00e9matique, <em>\u00c9toiles du Sud&nbsp;: Une exploration de l\u2019art de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Sud<\/em>, un commissariat confi\u00e9 \u00e0 Valentina Locatelli, commissaire d\u2019expositions ind\u00e9pendante, <em>bas\u00e9e<\/em> en Suisse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Invit\u00e9e \u00e0 choisir une s\u00e9lection de cr\u00e9ateurs du vaste continent latino-am\u00e9ricain Valentina Locatelli explique ce choix complexe et difficile, en \u00e9voquant la signature du trait\u00e9 de Tordesillas, une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 ce partage du monde que la diplomatie effectue comme un tour de passe-passe plein de virtuosit\u00e9,, celle qui g\u00e8re l\u2019humain\u2026. Un partage des Am\u00e9riques entre les conqu\u00e9rants espagnols et portugais faisant suite \u00e0 la d\u00e9couverte de cette derni\u00e8re <em>terra incognita<\/em> \u00e0 la fin du XV<sup>e<\/sup> s. Un fait historique et fondateur, d\u00e9terminant culturel et artistique d\u2019une certaine origine europ\u00e9enne. Ici encore, les simples choix esth\u00e9tiques sont entour\u00e9s d\u2019une strate tout \u00e0 fait autre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Par ailleurs, les choix de la commissaire \u00e9vitent un <em>\u00ab<\/em>&nbsp;<em>occidentalocentrisme&nbsp;<\/em>\u00bb tendance qui tend actuellement \u00e0 s\u2019estomper pour tenter de faire appara\u00eetre \u00ab&nbsp;une reconnaissance au-del\u00e0 des st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes&nbsp;\u00bb. En effet, le plus souvent, l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Sud est vue entre exotisme et fantastique. Une essentialisation d\u2019un art souvent m\u00e9connu et incompris et dont les racines latines sont pass\u00e9s aux filtres du syncr\u00e9tisme religieux et de l\u2019hybridation des cultures par le brassage des populations am\u00e9rindiennes, europ\u00e9ennes, africaines, et asiatiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valentina Locateli s\u2019attache assur\u00e9ment \u00e0 abolir les hi\u00e9rarchies g\u00e9ographiques afin de lib\u00e9rer l\u2019expression artistique. Elle contourne l\u2019\u00e9cueil de l\u2019eurocentrisme et ses cloisonnements pour pr\u00e9senter quelques personnalit\u00e9s choisies et marquantes de l\u2019art contemporain international dans toute la diversit\u00e9 des disciplines et des contenus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sans un fil conducteur pr\u00e9cis au d\u00e9part, la curiosit\u00e9 nous oriente, parfois, vers des espaces d\u2019exposition qui semblent ne pas correspondre dans ses propositions aux th\u00e9matiques annonc\u00e9es. Cela rend finalement agr\u00e9able un cheminement entre surprises et diversit\u00e9. Un essai d\u2019odyss\u00e9e, de promenade au fil des \u0153uvres, a priori, cependant, calibr\u00e9es autrement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ainsi, le long du parcours suivi au travers de ces deux th\u00e9matiques propos\u00e9es par la s\u00e9lection AWARE et la cr\u00e9ation latino-am\u00e9ricaine, se profilent des th\u00e8mes diversifi\u00e9s en de forts partis pris d\u00e9clin\u00e9s parfois par des pratiques ou univers emprunt\u00e9s aux cr\u00e9ateurs de l\u2019art singulier ou aux populations autochtones d\u2019horizons vari\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quelques <em>solo show<\/em> \u2014 des expositions individuelles \u2014 o\u00f9 de nombreux artistes s&rsquo;expriment avec des mat\u00e9riaux tress\u00e9s, \u00a0brod\u00e9s, ou cousus, des lieux uniques o\u00f9 ils pr\u00e9sentent leurs \u0153uvres. Ce sont quelquefois des autodidactes et des rencontres inattendues, comme celle qui met en pr\u00e9sence de Sanjar Zhubanov, kazakh dont la galerie n\u2019a pas vraiment pris le temps d\u2019affiner sa sc\u00e9nographie, qui animent nos p\u00e9r\u00e9grinations. A voir, ses pierres peintes pos\u00e9es au sol, elles rappellent les productions artistiques du Gravettien sur un m\u00eame support lithique et ses peintures stellaires renvoient aux g\u00e9oglyphes du d\u00e9sert de Nazca et \u00e9galement aux compositions pari\u00e9tales de Julien Salaud dans les sous-sol du Palais de Tokyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un regard aussi au travail de l&rsquo;artiste japonaise Ayako Miyawaki (1905-1995) dont les \u0153uvres sont issues des substrats de sa culture insulaire et forment un ensemble de motifs zoomorphes, le plus souvent des poissons, source de richesse dans ces contr\u00e9es et motif propitiatoire. Les \u0153uvres propos\u00e9es interpellent par leurs formes synth\u00e9tiques et le recours \u00e0 une gamme color\u00e9e de tons rabattus. La technique utilis\u00e9e est celle du tissu appliqu\u00e9, elle fait appel au recyclage de pi\u00e8ces que Miyawaki collecte et r\u00e9cup\u00e8re afin de les placer sur une surface plus large pour cr\u00e9er un nouveau motif. Cet art du quotidien nous rappelle les collages chinois [g\u0113b\u00e8i&nbsp; \u88bc\u8919] (voir l\u2019article du 6 janvier 2019 sur le blog Sciences &amp; art contemporain) r\u00e9alis\u00e9s par les femmes chinoises et rapport\u00e9 par Fran\u00e7ois Dautresme. L\u2019exposition organis\u00e9e en 1989, au Centre culturel du Mexique \u00e0 Paris, pr\u00e9sentait d\u00e9j\u00e0 quelques-unes de ces productions religieuses de la collection du mus\u00e9e de la Basilique de Guadalupe \u00e0 Mexico (voir en bibliographie).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A la Galerie des petits carreaux, la pr\u00e9sence forte de Paloma Castillo. N\u00e9e en 1965 au Chili, cette cr\u00e9atrice propose une variation de broderies sur toile en s\u2019appropriant des sujets repris de quelques mythes et cosmogonies qu\u2019elle relate sous des contenus et formes d\u00e9clin\u00e9s en plusieurs sc\u00e9nettes que l\u2019on appr\u00e9hende finalement plus vulgairement. Ses interpr\u00e9tations singuli\u00e8res, exprim\u00e9es par des narrations lisibles de fa\u00e7ons communes, sont r\u00e9alis\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de r\u00e9seaux lin\u00e9aires r\u00e9partis en surfaces color\u00e9es, s\u2019inspirant des techniques et motifs utilis\u00e9s dans l\u2019\u00e9laboration des textiles anciens pr\u00e9hispaniques. Selon Nakamura, les symboles \u00e9motic\u00f4nes utilis\u00e9s sur les innombrables supports num\u00e9riques aujourd\u2019hui auraient le pouvoir de rapprocher les individus en leur permettant d\u2019exprimer pleinement la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de leurs sentiments. Parmi ses dessins \u00ab&nbsp;anthropologiques&nbsp;\u00bb propos\u00e9s par le galeriste Arnaud Lefebvre, les plus r\u00e9cents sont trac\u00e9s au graphite sur des papiers teint\u00e9s accompagnant en d\u2019imperceptibles nuances et en transparences ses investigations plastiques autour de la repr\u00e9sentation du corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quant \u00e0 la r\u00e9partition g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l\u2019espace, elle regroupe en deux aires g\u00e9ographiques, le \u00ab&nbsp;secteur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral&nbsp;\u00bb&nbsp;et ce petit territoire qui r\u00e9serve cette ann\u00e9e la surprise de pouvoir (re)d\u00e9couvrir la jeune cr\u00e9ation contemporaine p\u00e9ruvienne, le secteur \u00ab&nbsp;promesses&nbsp;\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce secteur de la foire pr\u00e9sente des galeries \u00e9mergentes qui, souvent, effectuent un travail d\u2019accompagnement et de promotion de jeunes artistes. Quelques galeries non europ\u00e9ennes suivent ce principe. Ainsi en va-t-il de l\u2019\u00e9nergique <a href=\"http:\/\/www.galerieyounique.com\">galerie Younique<\/a> qui se partage entre Paris et Lima en s\u00e9lectionnant des plasticiens p\u00e9ruviens. Avec quatre jeunes artistes contemporains p\u00e9ruviens, la galerie, avec d\u2019une part son espace parisien du 13<sup>e<\/sup> arrondissement et de l\u2019autre celui du quartier de San Isidro \u00e0 Lima, pr\u00e9sente de mani\u00e8re remarquable sur un espace r\u00e9duit le dynamisme d\u2019une jeune cr\u00e9ation en plein essor. Jos\u00e9 Luis Martinat qui a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 en Su\u00e8de \u00e0 la Malm\u00f6 fine arts academy et \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 de G\u00f6teborg, s\u2019exprime avec fougue et circonspection en utilisant l\u2019image anim\u00e9e&nbsp;; le dessin et les installations laissent une grande part aux mots et aux textes qui donnent le sens \u00e0 ces r\u00e9alisations plastiques pouvant quelquefois faire r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 des revendications politiques&nbsp;: ainsi ce drap usag\u00e9 positionn\u00e9 verticalement avec pour sentence \u00ab&nbsp;pais con futuro&nbsp;\u00bb, \u0153uvre qui s\u2019inscrit sans discontinuit\u00e9 dans une ellipse, entre en r\u00e9sonance avec sa deuxi\u00e8me pi\u00e8ce sur tissu dont les inscriptions \u00e0 teneur politique, cousues au fil m\u00e9tallique, se d\u00e9clinent sur une s\u00e9rie de cercles concentriques, d\u00e9centr\u00e9s et emm\u00eal\u00e9s.
