sept 2017<\/p>\n<p>Trois artistes invit\u00e9s Alain Cardenas-Castro, Istvan Peto, Jos\u00e9 San Martin et un pierreux, Nicolas Clayette.<\/p>\n<p>Le commissaire de l\u2019exposition Christophe Comentale a fait le point avec la responsable du mus\u00e9e sur l\u2019accrochage des six salles du 2<sup>e<\/sup> \u00e9tage consacr\u00e9 avec le rez-de-chauss\u00e9e aux expositions Cardenas-Castro<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Comme le souligne Alain Cardenas-Castro, \u00ab\u00a0mon \u0153uvre, r\u00e9partie sur trois salles, a permis de faire le point sur une quinzaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es de cr\u00e9ation plastique d\u2019une mani\u00e8re non exhaustive. J\u2019ai souhait\u00e9 rassembler de tr\u00e8s grands formats, un ensemble de dessins comprenant deux s\u00e9ries, chacune mesurant 48 x 30 cm et 30 x 24 cm, des livres d\u2019artistes, des peintures portables et un <em>Assemblage<\/em>, ensemble de 45 pi\u00e8ces qui sont techniquement des acryliques sur papier maroufl\u00e9 sur bois, chaque \u0153uvre mesurant 25 x 20 cm. Je vais d\u2019abord m\u2019arr\u00eater sur <em>Gen\u00e8se<\/em>, cet <em>Assemblage<\/em> qui fait partie d\u2019un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 d\u00e9clin\u00e9 sur plusieurs s\u00e9ries, comprend 45 pi\u00e8ces. La s\u00e9rie, r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en\u00a02000, fait le point sur une r\u00e9flexion importante de ma cr\u00e9ation. Un dialogue s\u2019est instaur\u00e9\u00a0: \u00e0 la monumentalit\u00e9 des th\u00e8mes (<em>Circonvolutions<\/em>, <em>Mandorle<\/em>, <em>Gen\u00e8se<\/em>) r\u00e9pondent la diversit\u00e9 et les variantes des familles de th\u00e8mes d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s sur chacune comme un segment d\u2019un ensemble complexe. Il est \u00e9vident que j\u2019ai permis un \u00e9quilibre entre le plein et le vide dans cette salle haute de plafond qui ouvre sur la superbe et infinie perspective de la pleine de la Limagne.<br \/>\nComprenant un ensemble de 20 dessins encadr\u00e9s dans des moulures en ch\u00eane clair sur 22 par 38 ou 38 par 22 cm, la pi\u00e8ce suivante d\u2019une superficie de 8 m<sup>2<\/sup> est perc\u00e9e d\u2019une vaste fen\u00eatre orient\u00e9e Est et plafonn\u00e9e d\u2019une hauteur de 320 cm. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une pi\u00e8ce traversable qui conduit \u00e0 la 3<sup>e<\/sup> salle dont je parlerai ensuite. J\u2019ai d\u2019abord pens\u00e9 \u00e0 une sc\u00e9nographie prenant en compte la sym\u00e9trie, une sym\u00e9trie (classique). Je me suis r\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 implicitement \u00e0 mon exp\u00e9rience de sc\u00e9nographe et \u00e0 de multiples cabinets de dessins visit\u00e9s ici et l\u00e0. Comme il s\u2019agit d\u2019un floril\u00e8ge extr\u00eamement limit\u00e9 de mes dessins et que les parties porteuses de la pi\u00e8ce sont en pierre sombre de Volvic et qu\u2019elles structurent tr\u00e8s durement cet espace, un d\u00e9calage \u00e9tait n\u00e9cessaire et fondamental. Ce d\u00e9calage est de plusieurs ordres\u00a0:<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019une part, il est relatif \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sence m\u00eame des \u0153uvres, ces dessins datent des ann\u00e9es 1990 aux ann\u00e9es 2010, ils reprennent plusieurs histoires, narrations, fictions. Cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re et importante difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre. Tenir compte des dimensions de la pi\u00e8ce pour remettre dans une suite logique chaque s\u00e9quence d\u2019\u0153uvres.<\/p>\n<p>De l\u2019autre, la pr\u00e9sentation m\u00eame de ces pi\u00e8ces sur un mur central couvert par leur quasi-totalit\u00e9 de quelques pi\u00e8ces isol\u00e9es distribu\u00e9es sym\u00e9triquement de part et d\u2019autre aurait restreint la port\u00e9e de cet ensemble. Cette disposition n\u2019\u00e9tait pas possible. Je l\u2019ai limit\u00e9e aux deux pans de murs de part et d\u2019autre de la fen\u00eatre. Chacun a re\u00e7u un pendant d\u2019\u0153uvres. Enfin je voulais que la disposition adopt\u00e9e refl\u00e8te la totalit\u00e9 de mon propos.<\/p>\n<p>Mon propos il s\u2019agit en effet d\u2019une histoire d\u2019enfance aux symboles graphiques \u00e9volutifs. Cette histoire est r\u00e9apparue avec des dessins automatiques et rapides trac\u00e9s a l\u2019encre et menant a des apparitions plus facilement qu\u2019au crayon. Ainsi une table peut devenir mandorle &#8211;\u00a0un de mes livres \u00e9crit en est relatif a ce sujet\u00a0\u2013 de m\u00eame la mandorle peut devenir sexe f\u00e9minin. A ce propos plusieurs de mes livres d\u2019artistes expos\u00e9s ont trait\u00e9 de ces transformations (<em>Courroies<\/em>, I<em>nstruments<\/em>, <em>mandorles &amp; &#8230; tnemeriotagilbO<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Comme je le disais pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment la mise en espace du noyau le plus important de cette exposition m\u2019a permis sur le mur central de mettre 8 dessins selon 2 niveaux identiques. Je ne parlerai pas des contraintes techniques, mais surtout encore une fois la fa\u00e7on de faire dialoguer les deux murs lat\u00e9raux avec ce centre.<\/p>\n<p>J\u2019ai donc pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 d\u2019une fa\u00e7on d\u00e9cal\u00e9e ces 4 dessins \u00e9galement sur 2 niveaux. Lorsque l\u2019on passe d\u2019une porte \u00e0 l\u2019autre c\u2019est \u00e0 dire pour aller de la 1<sup>\u00e8re<\/sup> salle \u00e0 la 3<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> ou lorsque l\u2019on veut aller de la 3<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> \u00e0 la 1<sup>\u00e8re<\/sup>, si l\u2019on veut un espace dynamique il faut \u00e9viter une disposition sym\u00e9trique sur les murs lat\u00e9raux par rapport au centre. Sur l\u2019un des 2 murs lat\u00e9raux la s\u00e9rie de 4 est tr\u00e8s proche de la porte, A 32 cm exactement de celle-ci, soit la largeur d\u2019un cadre horizontal. Sur le 2<sup>e<\/sup> mur lat\u00e9ral l\u2019espace correspond \u00e0 3 longueurs de cadres \u00e0 partir de la porte, et pass\u00e9 le regard sur les 2 dessins, l\u2019espace restant est lui aussi de 32 cm. La magie du regard peut donc se r\u00e9aliser au mieux. Et donner au spectateur ou au visiteur qui souhaite passer ou s\u2018arr\u00eater plus au moins longtemps dans la pi\u00e8ce devenue un cabinet de dessins le sentiment d\u2019une motricit\u00e9 du regard face aux \u0153uvres. La manifestation s\u2019inscrivait dans le cadre d\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e9nement structurant, la Triennale d\u2019estampes mondiales de Chamali\u00e8res qui mobilise tous les trois ans une quinzaine de villes du centre de la France dont les mus\u00e9es, centres et espaces culturels pr\u00e9sentent un artiste, un courant artistique\u2026 Les choses se sont beaucoup calm\u00e9es jusqu\u2019\u00e0 cette ann\u00e9e 2017. En l\u2019occurrence, cette premi\u00e8re exposition a rassembl\u00e9 des cr\u00e9ateurs de tendances bien diff\u00e9rentes\u00a0: un tailleur de pierre qui attire un public plut\u00f4t local et trois peintres, graveurs, au style diff\u00e9rent mais \u00e0 la production assez similaire\u00a0: peintures, dessins, gravures et livres d\u2019artiste. Plus de toiles pour Istvan Peto, beaucoup de dessins chez Alain Cardenas Castro et une notori\u00e9t\u00e9 au niveau de ses livres d\u2019artiste chez Jos\u00e9 San Martin.
